THE SCENT

The four principal elements I chose for that “winter” scent were the orange, the rose, frankincense and cedarwood.  And these are the four I used to recreate The Winter’s Heart. 

 

As a child I loved the enormous oranges that seemed only available in december and the delightful cloud of mist that burst from them when I ripped their skin. 

 

And I’m quite certain I chose damask rose absolute because of the last verse of Bette Midler’s lovely ballad, The Rose. (It was EVERYWHERE when I was in high school and it’s just a powerful today.)​​
